Bonanza Camping Resort
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
86 RV Sites, 16 Tent Sites, 4 Onsite RV/Trailers
2.01 reviewsTucked back among tall Wisconsin pines on the Dells Parkway—directly across from Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park and one mile from Noah's Ark, the largest waterpark in the United States—Bonanza Camping Resort occupies one of the most strategically valuable campground positions in the Midwest. The resort manages to balance its unbeatable proximity to the Dells' world-famous attractions with the genuine peace and forest atmosphere that returning families cite as the reason they keep choosing Bonanza over the theme park campgrounds that dominate the Wisconsin Dells market. Accommodations range from full-hookup RV sites to air-conditioned cabin rentals sleeping up to eight guests, ensuring that every family finds a comfortable configuration for their Dells week.
Ninety-five full-hookup RV sites and 71 electric-and-water sites share the grounds with seven primitive tent sites, four camper cottages, and eight cabin options ranging from standard models to deluxe versions with added privacy and amenities. The resort's heated swimming pool, jumping pillow, mini golf, basketball court, GaGa pit, and playground operate as an on-site activity layer that keeps children entertained during the morning hours before the waterpark visits begin. Free Wi-Fi connects the entire property, and the air-conditioned cabin accommodations provide relief during peak Wisconsin summer weeks when temperatures climb and the Dells corridor buzzes at full capacity.
The surrounding Wisconsin Dells entertainment district provides the immersive waterpark experience that draws millions annually—Mt. Olympus delivers Greek-mythology-themed coasters alongside its water attractions, Noah's Ark covers 70 acres with slides and wave pools, and the combined infrastructure of the Dells waterpark corridor represents one of the country's most concentrated family entertainment destinations. Beyond the waterparks, boat tours through the famous Wisconsin Dells rock formations on the Wisconsin River reveal the sandstone bluffs and scenic gorges that gave the Dells its original 19th-century tourist reputation, long before a single waterslide was built. Rick Wilcox Magic Theater, Wisconsin Deer Park's live deer feeding, and a casino round out the entertainment menu within minutes of Bonanza's gates.
Wisconsin Dells anchors the Baraboo Hills region—a landscape of ancient rhyolite formations, sinkholes, and the Wisconsin River's scenic meanders that define the south-central Wisconsin geological character. Devil's Lake State Park, one of Wisconsin's most popular and beautiful parks, lies about 15 miles south and provides challenging hiking on quartzite bluffs above a glacial lake for guests who want a natural counterpoint to the resort energy of the Dells corridor. The International Crane Foundation in Baraboo and the Circus World Museum add cultural depth to the day-trip menu for families who want to balance waterpark days with something more contemplative.
The Wisconsin Dells waterpark season runs from late May through Labor Day, with July and August representing peak visitor volume when the corridor operates at maximum capacity. Bonanza books solidly for summer holiday weekends months in advance, and the cabin accommodations fill even faster than the RV sites for peak weeks. Shoulder season visits in May-June and September offer the resort's camping experience in a quieter setting, with the waterparks open but the crowds substantially reduced and reservations available with shorter lead times than the high-summer squeeze demands.

The restrooms and showers were not clean and had poor a water pressure. The 30amp power was not reliable. The maintenance guy tried to fix it but it continued to have low power. When we attempted to switch to the 50amp sparks flew from the fuse box.
The campground seemed to be very crowded.
