Plantation Oaks RV Park

Clute, Texas

103 RV Sites

Under 5.5 acres of mature, majestic live oak trees in Clute, Texas—in Brazoria County on the coastal prairie between Lake Jackson and the Gulf of Mexico, the only RV park within Clute city limits and therefore uniquely connected to city water, trash service, and municipal emergency services in the comfortable community on the Brazos River delta coast—Plantation Oaks RV Park provides 103 shaded sites with 30 and 50-amp electric service and WiFi in a quiet, owner-operated campground where the oak canopy's natural shade and the comfortable Brazoria County position between the Gulf beaches, the national wildlife refuges, and the petrochemical community's working population creates the reliable, year-round park that the lower Brazos coast's combination of recreation and industry consistently needs. The shade is real. The quiet is genuine. The Gulf is 15 miles south. All 103 sites are shaded under the mature live oak canopy that gives the park its name and its most distinctive character—natural shade in a Texas summer is the difference between a comfortable outdoor lifestyle and an endurance exercise, and 5.5 acres of old-growth oak overhead delivers the cooling benefit that a manufactured shade structure cannot replicate. The 30 and 50-amp electric service, water, city sewer hookup, WiFi throughout the property, and adequate vehicle parking accommodate the mix of short-term guests and the long-term residents who have established the park as their extended home in Brazoria County. Clean restroom and shower facilities maintain the daily infrastructure for the guest population that includes both the recreational camper and the professional community that the nearby petrochemical industry generates year-round. Clute sits in Brazoria County between the Lake Jackson residential community and the industrial port complex of Freeport at the mouth of the Old Brazos River channel, in the coastal prairie landscape where the Brazos River's deltaic deposition has built the flat, oak-studded coastal plain that extends from the Texas hill country to the Gulf of Mexico. The Brazoria County coast's petrochemical industry—centered on the Dow Chemical plant in Freeport, one of the largest chemical manufacturing complexes in the United States—drives the professional worker population that makes Brazoria County's RV parks a year-round business rather than a seasonal operation. The Brazosport area's community character reflects the chemical industry's workforce: stable, working-class, and connected to the Gulf Coast's fishing, hunting, and outdoor recreation culture. Surfside Beach, approximately 15 miles south via State Highway 332, provides the Gulf of Mexico beach access that the Brazoria County coast's barrier island position enables—an undeveloped, relatively uncrowded Texas Gulf beach that the absence of major resort development has kept accessible and affordable. The Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge and San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge, accessible west of Clute and Lake Jackson on FM-523 and FM-2611, protect the coastal prairie, bottomland hardwood, and estuarine wetland habitat that the Brazos River delta's coastal zone sustains—the wintering waterfowl populations in these refuges, particularly the Snow Goose concentrations from November through February, create one of the most accessible and dramatic wintering bird spectacles on the Texas Gulf Coast. Plantation Oaks RV Park operates year-round in Brazoria County's subtropical coastal climate, where the mild winters from November through March make the lower Brazos coast among the most comfortable year-round RV destinations in Texas and the summer heat is managed by the oak shade and the Gulf breezes that the coastal position channels through the park. Reserve your shaded site at Plantation Oaks and let Clute's live oak canopy, the Surfside Beach Gulf access, and the Brazoria County coastal prairie wildlife refuge system deliver the lower Texas coast experience that the shade, the quiet, and the proximity to both the Gulf and the refuges promise.
