Ninety feet is exceptional and accommodates anything on the road — genuinely useful in a remote corner where options are few. Twenty tent sites round out the lodging. The amenity set is deliberately minimal, and that is exactly right here — guests come for the rock, not the pool. Hiking and biking run from the property, with offroading nearby. Pets are welcome. The City of Rocks National Reserve is a geological wonderland of ancient granite monoliths, balanced rocks, and sculpted spires that has drawn climbers from around the world for decades. More than 1,000 established routes cross granite up to 2.5 billion years old, and the California Trail's original wagon route runs through it, with pioneer signatures still visible on Register Rock. Climbing season runs spring through fall. Reserve well ahead for May, June, September, and October.
