Emerald Desert RV Resort
Palm Desert, California
97 RV Sites
The Coachella Valley's winter climate — reliably sunny, warm, and dry from November through April when much of the country is cold — draws a concentrated community of snowbirds, resort guests, and outdoor enthusiasts to one of California's most distinctive desert landscapes, and Emerald Desert RV Resort in Palm Desert places guests in the center of that experience. Set on 33 scenic acres in the Coachella Valley, the resort combines full-service RV sites with luxury villa accommodations in a setting framed by the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountains rising dramatically above the desert floor.
Outdoor pools, private cabanas, pickleball courts, and tennis courts give the resort a comprehensive active amenity lineup that goes well beyond typical RV park expectations. RV sites are designed with the level pads, full hookup service, and site spacing that large-rig guests require for comfortable extended stays, and the resort's overall infrastructure reflects a property built for guests who expect hotel-comparable quality in their outdoor accommodation. The desert and mountain views visible from throughout the grounds are genuinely spectacular — the kind that make guests sit on their patio longer than they planned each evening as the mountains shift through sunset colors. Pets are accommodated.
The Coachella Valley's desert ecology is fascinating in its own right beneath the luxury resort character of Palm Desert's El Paseo corridor. The Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument encompasses rugged terrain immediately above the valley floor, and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway — rotating tram cars that ascend from the desert floor to 8,516-foot Mount San Jacinto — delivers guests from desert to alpine forest in ten minutes, one of the more remarkable single-ride landscape transitions available anywhere in the American West.
The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert is one of the Coachella Valley's most consistently excellent cultural and natural history destinations — 1,200 acres of Sonoran Desert plant collections, African wildlife exhibits, and interpretive trails that reward two to three hours of exploration. El Paseo, Palm Desert's mile-long luxury shopping and dining corridor known as the "Rodeo Drive of the Desert," anchors the evening culinary and retail scene. Joshua Tree National Park, roughly 45 minutes east, puts the Colorado and Mojave Desert transition zone and its iconic Joshua tree forests within day-trip range. The Coachella Valley's extensive network of desert hiking trails, including routes in the Indian Canyons above Palm Springs, add outdoor dimension to any resort-and-pool itinerary.
Emerald Desert RV Resort is at its peak from November through April, when the Coachella Valley's winter sunshine and 70-degree days draw guests from cold-weather states seeking the outdoor lifestyle that Palm Desert's resort corridor has perfected. The resort fills substantially during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April and major golf tournament weeks — reserve well ahead for those periods. Summer rates drop with the temperature rise, and guests comfortable with desert heat find the valley remarkably quiet and the resort's pool a practical refuge through the warm months.
