Hunter's Run RV Park
Meredith, New Hampshire
74 RV Sites, 13 Cabins
Hunter's Run RV Park in Meredith, New Hampshire, is a lakeside retreat on Pemigewasset Lake — a quiet, private lake in the shadow of the Lake Winnipesaukee region that gives the campground a protected-water character distinct from the larger lake's open-water activity. The property's history as the combined former Meredith Woods and Clearwater campgrounds has left it with twice the terrain and amenity depth of most single-origin parks, and the result is a destination with genuine variety built into its bones from the start.
The campground accommodates tent campers on scenic lakeside sites, RV travelers with full hookup service, guests seeking rustic lean-to accommodations, and those preferring fully equipped cabin rentals — a range broad enough to suit groups with mixed accommodation preferences arriving together. The lake's fishing dock, sandy beach, and nature trails form the core outdoor experience, while kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats available for exploring the lake's private island add a distinctive activity option rarely available at lakeside campgrounds. On-site sports and a playground extend the activity roster for active families, and an indoor pool with hot tub and a pool-table game room ensure that rainy days don't derail the camping experience. The charming downtown of Meredith — walkable from camp — adds shops, restaurants, and the community character of a genuine New Hampshire lakeside town. Pets are welcome throughout.
Pemigewasset Lake's quiet, tree-lined character makes it a particularly appealing alternative to the busier launch ramps and powerboat traffic of Lake Winnipesaukee during peak summer weekends. The private island accessible from camp by paddle craft provides one of the more memorable excursion options at any New Hampshire campground — a short paddle to a genuinely isolated natural island in the middle of a New Hampshire lake has a quality that photographs and descriptions underestimate.
Lake Winnipesaukee itself — New Hampshire's largest lake and one of New England's premier recreational water bodies — is just minutes from the campground, with boat launches, tour cruises, and the full activity calendar of the Lakes Region available to guests who extend their stay beyond the campground's own shoreline. The M/S Mount Washington cruise ship, operating from Weirs Beach on multi-hour lake tours through the summer season, is a worthwhile excursion for guests who want the full Winnipesaukee experience. Laconia's dining scene, the Meredith Sculpture Walk, and the seasonal festivals that animate the Lakes Region through summer and early fall round out the regional attraction picture.
Hunter's Run RV Park operates through the New Hampshire outdoor season from spring through fall, with summer the peak period for both lake recreation and Lakes Region tourist activity. Reserve early for July and August — lakeside camping sites in the Meredith area fill months in advance, and the combination of private-lake character and indoor pool backup makes Hunter's Run one of the most booked properties in the region for families planning summer trips well ahead.
