Ozark RV Park and Cabins

Mountain View, Arkansas

67 RV Sites, 4 Cabins

Mountain View, Arkansas, is the undisputed folk music and traditional crafts capital of the Ozarks — a small Stone County seat where square dancing still happens in the courthouse square on summer weekends and the regional traditions of Ozark Appalachian culture are preserved not as nostalgia but as genuine living practice. Ozark RV Park & Cabins sits immediately adjacent to the Ozark Folk Center State Park through a shared entrance that gives guests almost instantaneous access to one of Arkansas's most distinctive cultural heritage sites, creating a campground whose location is as important as its amenity lineup. Seventy-three sites offer 50- and 30-amp back-in and pull-through full hookup configurations on level gravel pads, and a selection of cozy themed cabins provides character-driven solid-wall accommodations that fit the Mountain View atmosphere. Tent camping is available, and the campground's self-described "cleanest bathhouse in town" — maintained with a consistency that guests frequently reference — along with an on-site laundry facility keep extended-stay practicalities covered. The community center with its full kitchen hosts weekly folk music jam sessions that draw both campground guests and local musicians into an informal performance tradition that has been running for years. Wi-Fi and cable TV are available throughout. Pets are welcome. The White River and its tributaries in Stone County represent some of the most productive trout-fishing water in Arkansas — cold, clear spring-fed streams that support year-round fishing seasons and draw dedicated fly-fishing enthusiasts from across the mid-South. Mountain biking on the Ozark highlands trail network extends the outdoor options considerably, and the forested karst terrain of the surrounding Ozark hills provides hiking routes through a landscape of cedar glades, limestone bluffs, and hardwood hollows that changes character dramatically between seasons. The Ozark Folk Center State Park, accessible through the shared campground entrance, is the primary draw for most Mountain View visitors — and justifiably so. The park's craft village presents more than 20 traditional Ozark crafts demonstrated by skilled artisans across a living history campus, and the music auditorium hosts performances of traditional Appalachian and Ozark music throughout the season with a schedule that warrants an advance look when planning your visit. The White River just five minutes from camp provides kayaking and canoe access alongside the fishing, and the broader Ozark highlands surrounding Mountain View reward day drives through some of Arkansas's most scenic countryside. Ozark RV Park & Cabins is open year-round, with the Ozark Folk Center operating through its own seasonal schedule that peaks from late spring through fall. Summer evenings at the Folk Center's music auditorium and the courthouse square jam sessions create an atmosphere unique to Mountain View that peaks in warmth and participation from June through August. Book cabins ahead for the Arkansas Folk Festival in April, which draws large crowds to Mountain View and fills local accommodations well in advance of the event weekend.
