4.710 reviewsSunny Oaks RV Park in Jacksonville, Florida, is a family-owned campground that has invested significantly in its physical infrastructure — a 2020 renovation rebuilt 115 RV sites from the ground up with new roads, new concrete pads, new utility connections across electric, sewer, and water, a new bathhouse, and new laundry facilities. A subsequent expansion added The Reserve at Sunny Oaks at a neighboring address on New Kings Road: 66 premium pull-through sites with wider roads, a new bathhouse and laundry, a dedicated dog park, a playground, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The combined property gives guests a choice between the established main park and the premium pull-through section, both reflecting the operational standards of a campground whose ownership takes guest experience seriously.
The practical result of those investments is a campground that functions at a level of cleanliness, infrastructure reliability, and day-to-day responsiveness that exceeds what the family-owned designation typically promises. Whether guests are stopping for a single night, staying for a week, or making Sunny Oaks an extended residential address, the base quality of the sites and facilities gives each stay a comfortable foundation. The campground's pet-friendly policy and family orientation make it suitable across the range of households that Jacksonville's position as a major Florida hub draws through consistently.
Jacksonville's geography — spanning 874 square miles and containing both coastal, riverine, and inland park environments — gives it more diverse recreational access than most Florida cities of comparable size. The St. Johns River, running through the heart of the city before emptying into the Atlantic, provides boating, fishing, kayaking, and waterfront dining access in a river corridor that the city has increasingly invested in as a recreational and cultural asset. The Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve on Jacksonville's northeast side protects 46,000 acres of coastal marshes, tidal creeks, and salt marsh forest in one of the most significant undeveloped coastal barrier environments on the Atlantic seaboard.
Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, and Atlantic Beach provide the full range of northeastern Florida's Atlantic coast beach experience within practical driving distance of the campground, and the Ponte Vedra area's golf infrastructure — including the TPC Sawgrass, home of The Players Championship — serves the significant golf tourism component of Jacksonville's visitor economy. The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, the Museum of Science and History, and the Riverside and Five Points neighborhoods' independent restaurant and bar scene give Jacksonville's cultural activity dimension more depth than the city's beach-and-football-team reputation typically receives from outsiders.
Sunny Oaks RV Park operates year-round in Jacksonville's warm coastal plain climate, where the mild January-through-March window attracts snowbird travelers from the Midwest and Northeast looking for an inexpensive Florida winter base with the practical infrastructure for longer-term stays. Summer brings the full Florida outdoor recreation season and the beach access that makes Jacksonville's Atlantic coast campgrounds most competitive. Reserve The Reserve at Sunny Oaks pull-through sites ahead for extended winter stays, when the premium section's infrastructure and dog park amenities make it the preferred choice for longer-term guests.

They were clean and easy access. The wifi was strong and all the information was conveniently provided. The landscape about is nicely ...Show more
