Resort Travel Tips Do you allow pets? - Yes, four-legged friends are welcome. - Pet fees are $20 per pet per night in our cabins, and $5 per pet per night in RVs and tents. - The maximum number of pets per site or cabin is three. - Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets in the motel. - For the safety and comfort of all of our guests, aggressive dogs are not allowed. How far are you from Mount St. Helens? - Close! - It’s only 45 minutes to the Johnson Ridge Observatory. - We are the closest campground to the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center, as they are just 1 mile away. Can we bring our own boat? - Yes, overnight guests can bring a personal boat. - We do charge $10 per day for moorage with w/trailer parking. - Please note that parking is very limited and is on a first-come come first-served basis. - If you’re not a guest, you can still launch your boat here for just $10 and take advantage of our dock moorage for $20 a night. Do you rent boats? - Yes, we do! - We have pontoon boats, motor boats, row boats, canoes, one-person Kayaks, pedal boats, and stand-up paddle boards for rent. - You can now reserve your boat online before you come. - We also rent fishing rods for $5 a day. Can we come for just the day to picnic, fish, or visit with people? - Absolutely! - You can have access to our entire relaxing property until 10 PM – including our playground, picnic area, fire pit, docks, and other amenities – for only $10 per day per person and pet. Can I put up a tent along with my RV? - Generally, Yes. - The tent must fit within your RV site, and there is an additional $24 fee per night. - We do allow tent setup in RV spaces 1-9 & 16-19. - However, the “Deluxe” full hookup sites (10-15) are too small for additional tents, and we ask that they not be set up there. - Please recognize this is a small property, so we prefer that you rent an extra space in the tent area or adjacent RV space for your extra tent. - Things will not seem so tightly cramped this way. - Please do not put any structures in the common areas or outside your space. - Also, no tents or structures (including canopies) outside cabins or motel rooms. Do you have full hookups? - We have water and electricity at all our RV sites, and 6 sites have sewer hookups (Deluxe RV sites 10-15). - Please note that we are on a septic system, recently installed and updated. - To use the sewer hookup, please arrive empty, and do not use any sanitizer, enzymes, or chemicals in your system. - We will confirm this before opening the hookup. - If this is an issue, there is a dump station at Seaquest State Park less than a mile down the road (they charge ~$8). - There are also rest areas along Highway I-5 that have free dumping stations. - Also, these deluxe sites cannot have extra tents on their site. Can you swim off the Silver Lake Resort property? - No, as it is a liability issue since so many guests are fishing and boating off the Silver Lake Resort property. - But many guests take a paddleboard or kayak into Silver Lake and play out there. Do you need a fishing license? - Yes, according to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, everyone age 15 and older needs a fishing license. - You can find details of the sport fishing regulations and seasons at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regulations/ Do you sell fishing licenses? - No, we don’t – you can buy them online from the Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife or at Drew’s Grocery store in Toutle or Chuck’s Chevron, just up the road from us. How is the fishing? - Silver Lake is one of the best Largemouth Bass fishing lakes in the state. - Several tournaments are held on the lake every year. - The lake is open year-round for fishing. - And of course, fishing is one of the best parts of spending time at Silver Lake Resort. - Silver Lake also has Perch, Bluegill, Rainbow Trout, Catfish, Crappie, and Carp. - For more details on when the fish are biting, check out the Silver Lake page from the Washington Dep of Fish & Wildlife. Do you get cell reception? - Yes. - If you NEED to stay in touch with work or family, Verizon, US Cellular, and AT&T work here. - Unfortunately, Sprint & T-Mobile generally do not get reception in our location. Do you have WiFi? - Yes, we do! - It does not reach the whole property, but you should have a reception on the peninsula and near the office area. Do you have a restaurant on site? - Unfortunately, we do not. - We do have a convenience store with packaged foods and frozen products. - Each motel room and cabin has a kitchen. - Additionally, there are several restaurants nearby and a pizza place that delivers. Do the rooms have Air Conditioning? - All of our rooms have fans; sorry, no AC. Is there a fire pit at each campsite? - Yes, however, sometimes the state issues a fire ban.
