64 RV Sites
Lantern DeForest RV Resort in Wisconsin offers 64 full-hookup pull-through RV sites eight miles north of Madison, with 20, 30, and 50-amp service and rigs accepted to 83 feet on a big-rig-friendly layout. Premium and standard pull-through categories mean no backing at any site, with an outdoor pool, game room, sports courts, and walking trails.
Sixty-four sites run in pull-through and premium pull-through categories, both carrying water, sewer, and electric on 20, 30, and 50-amp with site WiFi, sized to 83 feet, with picnic tables. An all-pull-through layout at 83 feet is a genuinely practical combination — no backing after a long driving day, and room for the longest coaches with a tow. Cabins round out the lodging. A general store, laundry, propane fills, dump station, restrooms, showers, firewood, and recycling handle the practical side. Mention a late checkout at check-in and staff will accommodate it where the site is not turning over.
An outdoor pool anchors the summer, with a game room, sports courts, volleyball, horseshoes, walking trails, a playground, pavilion, dog park, and picnicking filling the grounds. A lake, river, golf course, and wine and beer tasting are all nearby. Pets are welcome.
Madison is eight miles south, and it rewards the trip — the University of Wisconsin's flagship campus, the State Capitol, State Street's independent shops and restaurants, and a 17,000-acre urban lake system centered on Mendota and Monona make it one of the most livable mid-sized cities in the country.
Summer and Badger football weekends drive demand. Reserve well ahead for both.

Common Questions
Can I have a late check-out time?
- During check-in, simply mention it.
- We will do all that we can to make it possible.
- If another guest is coming into that site, then you will need to move, but otherwise, checking out an hour later or so is not a problem.
Is my site satellite-friendly?
- Due to tree coverage, many sites do not receive great satellite feed.
Are there trees near my site?
- Each of our campgrounds has trees spaced throughout them to provide shade.
Is my site a pretty level site?
- Yes.
- We at Lantern DeForest RV Resorts work to ensure each site is kept as level as possible.
I have family stopping by, can they park at my site?
- We request that any visitors park in the parking lot instead of at campsites.
- Doing so allows all of our guests to have room to come and go as they want.
What is your cancellation policy?
- Any cancellations made, regardless of notice given, will be subject to a 4% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made with a 3-day or more notice (from the check-in date) will receive a full refund minus the 4% fee.
- Bookings made within the 3-day period will disqualify you for any refund at all.
- A no-show will be treated as a cancellation with no notice and will be given no refund.
Can I just come fill my tank with water?

What convenience places are nearby?
- Kwik Trip, Cheese Chalet, Arby’s, Taco Bell, Culver's, Family Dollar, Ace Hardware & More.
Why do I need to pay a deposit on cabins?
- We require a deposit for cabins just as apartments require deposits.
- If you leave the cabin as you found it, your deposit is returned.
- However, damage sometimes happens, which is why the deposit is required.
Do you have cable?
- We do not offer cable.
Do you offer a frequent customer discount or a point system?
- As of this moment, we do not.
Can I reserve now and pay when I arrive?
- No, when you reserve a site, we cannot sell it to anyone else, so we charge at reservation.
Can I bring my own firewood?
- Outside firewood is prohibited.
Do you have a sewer hookup?
- Yes – all RV sites at Lantern DeForest Campground have full sewer, water, and electric hook-up.
Is my site 50 amp? Is my site 30 amp?

- Each campground has its own map, and that map shows whether each site is 50 or 30 amp.
Do you have pull-through sites?
- Yes, the campground has pull-through sites available.
Do we have propane refuel stations?
- Yes, the campground has a station to refill propane tanks.
What if we arrive at night, after the office closes? What if we do not have a reservation when we get there at night?
- If you arrive at night and have a reservation, then your name will be written on an envelope and put next to the front door.
- Inside that envelope, you will find the map with all the details you need to access your reserved site.
- If you arrive without a reservation after the office closes, there will be maps next to the front door that have the available sites on them and how to get to them.
- Simply choose one, settle in for the night at your chosen site, and in the morning, we will check you in and handle the registration section then.
