Are pets allowed at Appalachian Springs Outdoor Resort? - Yes, we love Fur Babies, Please Keep in mind the following rules: - Your pets must be on a leash or in a pen when out of your camper. - Please respect other campers, your pet must be kept quiet. - If the campground staff must pick up pet waste this will result in a $30.00 clean-up fee. - Pets should not be left outside unattended. Are campfires allowed? - Everyone loves a campfire, but fires can be dangerous, so please be mindful and if you aren’t sure check here. - Campfires (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov) - Campfires are only allowed in designated firepits. - Firewood is sold at the clubhouse for your convenience. - We do not allow firewood from out of state as this can cause potential problems of bringing in outside pests. - Do not cut down any standing trees (alive or dead) Are alcoholic beverages allowed? - Yes, consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted at your campsite, however, consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors is strictly prohibited. Is smoking allowed? - Smoking is not allowed in the Clubhouse, Bathhouse, Bathrooms, Common Areas or Outdoor amenities. - Smoking is allowed on your own site as long as it is done in a way that is respectful of and does not indirectly impact the experience of other guests and are disposed of properly. Is there a daily garbage pickup? - Trash Pickup Time: Trash pickup is at 11:00 AM (checkout time). - Important: Please do not leave trash outside before or after 11 AM, as it can attract wildlife. - Need to dispose of trash at another time? There are convenient dumpsters located at each exit near Ogle Drive. Is there a maximum allowed number of occupants? - Yes, the maximum allowed number of occupants is 6 per campsite. - Visitors must be registered. Is there a maximum number of Vehicles per campsite? - Yes, no more than 1 RV and 2 vehicles per site, please contact office for extra vehicle parking. - There is no parking on grass or other campsites allowed. - Towing is enforced at the guest’s expense. Are visitors allowed? - Yes, visitors are allowed, but campers are responsible for their own guests. - There is a $5 per day Visitor fee that can be paid at the clubhouse during business hours. - Visitors may stay overnight if the site does not exceed the maximum number of occupants. - All guests must stay within the resort property boundaries. - No trespassing on neighboring land is permitted. Appalachian Springs is a campground in Pigeon Forge, in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains and we have fantastic fishing opportunities nearby. - Here are some great fishing locations in and around Pigeon Forge: The Great Smoky Mountains National Park: - The park boasts over 2,115 miles of streams, making it home to one of the last wild trout habitats in the eastern United States. From remote, headwater trout streams to large, cool water smallmouth bass streams, there’s something for every angler. - The East Prong of the Little River is one of the largest streams in the park and is heavily fished. - It’s an excellent spot for fly fishing with abundant rainbow and brown trout. - For more information and a map of all park waters, visit a visitor center. - License required: Yes Big Rock Dude Ranch Fishing Pond - Located in Pigeon Forge, this pond is stocked with bluegill, crappie, catfish, and bass. - You can fish here without a license, and the ranch provides rods, reels, and bait for a nominal fee. - License required: No Douglas Lake - A beautiful reservoir created from the French Broad River. - Stretching over 32 miles, it’s just a few miles from the national park. - Offers fantastic bass fishing accessible from various pull-offs along the road. - License required: Yes Gatlinburg Trout Facility – Herbert Holt Park - Tennessee’s only municipal trout farm, located in Gatlinburg. - Rainbow trout reared here are deposited into the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River every Thursday. - The surrounding waters are designated for children-only fishing. - License required: Yes Mynatt Park - Along LeConte Creek, near the beginning of the Historic Motor Nature Trail extending from the GSMNP boundary. - Another great spot for children-only fishing. - The park also includes a picnic area by the water. - License required: Yes - Fishing is permitted year-round in the park, from 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset. - The park allows fishing in all streams. You must possess a valid fishing license for Tennessee or North Carolina. - Fishing permits are not available in the park, but can be purchased in nearby towns. - Special permits are required to fish in Gatlinburg and Cherokee.
