Made in the Shade RV Park - Only
Only, Tennessee
34 RV Sites, 10 Cabins
In Only, Tennessee—a quiet community in Hickman County in the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee just off Interstate 40 at Exit 152, where the Tennessee countryside between Nashville and Memphis offers the wooded, unhurried character that the I-40 corridor's pace obscures—Made in the Shade RV Park delivers exactly what its name promises: 38 full hookup RV sites under the cooling canopy of mature shade trees, with a swimming pool, cabins, clubhouse, dog park, laundry, walking trails, pond, and stream access in a property that sits within easy reach of Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Natchez Trace State Park, and the Tennessee music and cultural heritage of the Western Middle Tennessee landscape. For travelers who want a genuine Tennessee country stop that extends beyond the highway rest area experience, Made in the Shade provides the shade, the pool, and the community.
Full hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer accommodate rigs of all sizes in the tree-shaded property alongside cabin accommodations for guests who prefer enclosed lodging, with WiFi, playground, laundry, and clean bathrooms and showers completing the essential amenity infrastructure. The swimming pool provides relief from the Tennessee summer heat that any traveler on the mid-state I-40 corridor will recognize as the primary mid-day challenge from June through September, and the walking trails connect to the pond and creek access that make the natural surroundings more than decorative. The dog park gives pets their exercise space in a town where the surrounding countryside provides the quiet country atmosphere that dogs—like their owners—find restorative after highway travel. Wine and beer tasting at nearby regional producers adds an adult entertainment option for evenings between the pool and the campfire.
Only sits in Hickman County in the Western Highland Rim, in the gentle, forested hill country that characterizes Middle Tennessee west of the Nashville basin—a landscape of mixed hardwood forest, small farms, and the tributary creeks of the Duck River and Buffalo River that drain this part of the Cumberland Plateau's western slope. The Duck River, one of the most biologically diverse rivers in North America and home to more species of freshwater mussels than any river system in the country, flows through nearby Hickman and Perry Counties in the region's most significant natural corridor.
Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, approximately 20 miles west on US Highway 70, preserves the home, grist mill, plantation home, and the personal museum of one of country music's most beloved and most decorated artists—a property that combines living history, country music heritage, and the genuine Tennessee countryside character that defines Loretta Lynn's origin story. Natchez Trace State Park, nearby to the south, protects the hill country landscape of the Natchez Trace corridor with hiking trails, fishing, and camping in the natural forest environment that the Trace has preserved since the days of the keelboat men and the Chickasaw Nation.
Made in the Shade operates year-round in Hickman County's Tennessee climate, with the pool season from late May through Labor Day at the heart of the summer travel calendar and the fall foliage on the surrounding hardwood ridges providing the October color that makes Middle Tennessee's hill country genuinely beautiful. The I-40 corridor's accessibility means the park serves both dedicated Tennessee destination travelers and the through-travelers making the Nashville-to-Memphis run who want more than a truck stop overnight. Reserve your shaded site or cabin at Made in the Shade and let Hickman County's genuine Tennessee country character and the easy access to Loretta Lynn's heritage prove that the best I-40 stops aren't always the ones with the billboards.
