Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort

New London, Ohio

51 RV Sites, 5 Cabins, 10 Tent Sites, 5 Onsite RV/Trailers

At 47675 New London Eastern Road in New London, Ohio—in Huron County in north-central Ohio's agricultural lake district where the Ohio Terminal Moraine's glacially deposited ridges created the shallow basins that filled with the ponds and lakes that the region's private campground economy built its recreation culture around—Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort has served camping families and retirees for more than 43 years, providing over 500 campsites, a 75-acre swimming and boating lake, a floating obstacle course, waterslides, a splash pad, five playgrounds, a sandy beach, basketball and volleyball courts, a general store, laundry, and propane service in the comprehensive north-central Ohio family camping resort that the Ashland-Huron County market has built generational camping loyalty around across four decades of continuous operation. The 75-acre lake, the floating obstacle course, and the five playgrounds distributed across 500-plus sites define the scale and orientation of a campground whose primary guest is the multi-generation Ohio family returning to the same site year after year. More than 500 total campsites serve overnight, weekly, and seasonal guests. Short-term RV sites with 20, 30, and 50-amp electric and water hookups accommodate the transient and weekend family camping market, while seasonal sites serve the extended-stay population who spend their summers at Claremar rather than owning a lakefront property outright. Cabin rentals with lake access provide the enclosed accommodation option. Clean restrooms and shower facilities are distributed throughout the resort's grounds. A general store stocked with essentials, snacks, ice, and firewood, along with laundry facilities, propane service, and a dump station, handle the daily operational supply and service requirements. WiFi, picnic tables, and grills at sites provide the connectivity and outdoor cooking infrastructure. The 75-acre lake provides the central aquatic recreation anchor: swimming in the designated areas, fishing for the warmwater species that a north-central Ohio lake of that size maintains, and boating on a body of water large enough for meaningful recreation without the congestion that smaller private campground ponds generate at peak occupancy. A floating obstacle course on the 75-acre lake—inflatable structures anchored to provide the challenge course that guests navigate across the lake surface—constitutes the specific aquatic adventure amenity that distinguishes the lake recreation beyond swimming and fishing into the structured physical challenge that older children and adults specifically seek. Waterslides and a splash pad provide the additional water entertainment for guests whose preference runs toward the plunge-and-splash rather than the obstacle course challenge. A sandy beach for sunbathing and the shallow-water wading experience provides the passive lakeside option. Five playgrounds distributed across the 500-plus-site resort ensure that the playground infrastructure matches the site density rather than concentrating all the play equipment in a single distant corner that requires a golf cart to reach from the outer sites. New London and the surrounding Huron County agricultural landscape provide the rural north-central Ohio character that the glacial lake district maintains between the Lake Erie shoreline and the interior farm country. Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort is open seasonally through the Ohio camping calendar. Summer from Memorial Day through Labor Day fills the 500-plus sites with returning families who have been camping at Claremar for decades in the generational loyalty pattern that 43 years of continuous operation reflects. Reserve early for the Fourth of July week and the August peak when the floating obstacle course generates the longest waits and the lake recreation is at maximum engagement. Let the 75-acre lake and the five playgrounds earn the north-central Ohio family camping reputation that 43 years of satisfied returnees constitute as the most reliable indicator of what Claremar delivers.
