Bear's Pine Woods Campground

Moultonborough, New Hampshire

14 RV Sites, 3 RV Rental + Campsite Packages

On the wooded access road to Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, Bear's Pine Woods Campground offers 106 full and partial hookup campsites surrounded by a state-managed forest and wildlife preserve, with a nature trail meandering through the pine woods to Braun Bay on the lake and a traditional New England campground experience that centers on the pool, the trails, and the natural character of Carroll County's lake country. The campground's position on the Lakes Region's quieter northern shore—away from the commercial density of Weirs Beach and Laconia—gives it a character of genuine woodland retreat within reach of one of New Hampshire's most beloved and extensively recreational lakes. Hookup sites include electric, water, and sewer service across full and partial configurations, and the property is big-rig friendly with slide-out accommodations available. A modern laundry, free hot showers, and clean restrooms anchor the main lodge building alongside a game room, snack store, and community lounge area. An in-ground pool with surrounding patio serves as the social and recreational heart of the property during peak summer season, and volleyball, bocce, and horseshoes provide additional organized outdoor recreation. Free WiFi throughout the property supports the growing share of guests who work remotely, and the pet-friendly policy extends the welcome to traveling families with dogs who appreciate the surrounding forest trails. Moultonborough sits on Lake Winnipesaukee's northern shore in Carroll County, where the lake's 72-square-mile surface meets a more forested and less developed shoreline than its southern reaches. The nature trail from the campground to Braun Bay provides direct lake access for guests who want the full Winnipesaukee experience, and the state forest surrounding the property creates the wildlife corridor where loons call from the water, osprey hunt the coves, and white-tailed deer move through the woods in the early morning. The access road's wooded character creates a campground approach that feels appropriately remote for a property in the heart of the Lakes Region resort community. Lake Winnipesaukee's recreational infrastructure—boat rentals, fishing charters, scenic cruises aboard the M/S Mount Washington, water skiing, and the full range of summer activities anchored in Wolfeboro, Meredith, and Laconia—is accessible from Moultonborough with the practical advantage of avoiding the most congested launch ramps and commercial areas on the lake's busier southern shore. Castle in the Clouds, a historic Arts and Crafts mansion perched in the Ossipee Mountains above Moultonborough with panoramic views across the Lakes Region, is a must-visit day trip. The White Mountain National Forest and its hiking, skiing, and scenic drives begin just 20 miles north. Bear's Pine Woods operates from spring through fall in alignment with New Hampshire's traditional camping season. Summer is the peak period when the pool and the lake access draw maximum visitation, and the July Fourth and Labor Day weekends require advance reservations well ahead of arrival. The shoulder seasons—late May through June and September into early October—offer excellent hiking in the surrounding forest and the Lakes Region's famous foliage color with meaningfully fewer guests. Reserve your wooded site at Bear's Pine Woods and let Lake Winnipesaukee's northern shore deliver the authentic New Hampshire lakes experience that the quieter side of the region preserves.
