Lake View Lodge in Ely, MN, offers 9 cabins on the shores of Shagawa Lake.
This is a lakeside cabin resort rather than a serviced RV park — the published record shows no RV sites or hookups, so contact the lodge directly if you're traveling in a rig. The grounds are gated, with a bathhouse, on-site dining, and WiFi. Pets are welcome.
The water is the whole point. Boat docks, a boat ramp, boat rentals, a beach, and walking trails put guests directly onto Shagawa's 2,000-plus acres of walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth water, with swimming, paddling, fishing, hiking, biking, and birding. The lodge has been running this operation for more than eighteen years.
Ely is the gateway community to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and the town reflects it: the International Wolf Center, the International Bear Center, the Dorothy Molter Museum, the Soudan Underground Mine, and the Mesabi Trail are all close.

Registration and Arrival
Check-In Procedure
- Check-in is at 3 pm.
- Check out is at 10 am.
- Please reach out if you would like to request a later check out or early check in, as we will be flexible based on our occupancy.
- While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement.
Initial Deposit
- At the time of booking, $350.00 will be collected. Payment for all gift certificates will also be collected.
Children Policy
- Children are welcome with an accompanying adult
Pet Policy
- Pets must weigh under 40 pounds
- Pets are allowed, max 2 per cabin.
- All pets must be on a leash at all times and must be picked up after.
- Allowed with Prior Authorization
- In consideration of our other guests, we limit the number of pets on site.
- We require a $150.00 deposit, which will be paid back one week after your cabin has been cleaned.
- We limit pets to 2 per cabin booking with a $75 fee per pet.
- Pets must be on a leash at all times and must be picked up after.
- A complimentary boat with your stay fuel fee will be on your reservation.
- The fuel charge is $18.00/day or $87.00/week.
Credit Card Security
- Your credit card information is stored and processed securely.
Cabin
- Any damage that has been caused to the cabin, boat, or pontoon the renter will be responsible for.
- No smoking in cabins.
Quiet Hours
- Quiet hours will be from 10 pm to 7 am.
Deposit
- A deposit of $300-$500 per week is required for each cabin, depending on size.
- Boat deposits are $250 to $450 (boat deposit is on a boat rental only; this is not required if you are renting our cabin and enjoying our pontoon that we provide with your stay)
- Reservations will not be confirmed without a deposit.
Cancellation Policy
MODERATE
If the guest cancels at least 1 week before your check-in day and time, they will receive a full refund (minus Spot2Nite convenience or resort fees). If the guest cancels within the 1 week before check-in, there will be no refund.
