Escape With Us RV Resort in Somerset, Kentucky, brings full-hookup RV infrastructure and resort-quality attention to detail to the Lake Cumberland corridor in Pulaski County — a campground that distinguishes itself from the region's functional waterfront parks through thoughtful amenity choices like the Meadowland Mercantile, an on-site market stocked with camping essentials, local goods, and a fresh herb garden that guests can harvest directly. The resort's position minutes from Lake Cumberland and central Somerset makes it both an outdoor recreation base and a comfortable longer-stay address for travelers who want to stay awhile in one of southern Kentucky's most rewarding lake environments. Each RV site is designed for hassle-free arrival and setup, with full hookup service appropriate for any configuration of motorhome or travel trailer. A dedicated dog park serves pet-owning guests who are traveling with dogs and want the structure of an enclosed exercise space, and on-site laundry handles the practical needs of extended-stay guests through the cleaning cycles that multi-week trips require. Boat and RV storage availability addresses the logistics that guests trailering watercraft to Lake Cumberland specifically need, making the resort a practical base not just for overnight stays but for the longer-term arrangements that regular Lake Cumberland visitors make when they return season after season. Pets are welcome. Lake Cumberland, impounded by Wolf Creek Dam on the Cumberland River in 1952, spans over 57,000 acres with more than 1,200 miles of shoreline through Russell, Pulaski, Wayne, and Clinton Counties — a reservoir of such size that guests who spend multiple days exploring its numerous arms, coves, and hidden inlets consistently find sections they haven't visited before. The combination of deep, clear water, productive bass and walleye fisheries, and the region's strong houseboat rental industry makes Lake Cumberland one of Kentucky's premier water recreation destinations and the primary engine of Pulaski County's tourism economy. Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument, commemorating the January 1862 Union victory that was the first significant Federal success in the western theater of the Civil War, interprets the battle through well-produced exhibits, original artifacts, and a self-guided driving tour of the preserved battlefield terrain along the Cumberland River bluffs. The site's interpretive quality exceeds what most visitors expect from a relatively recent National Monument designation, and the Cumberland River setting lends physical drama to the historical narrative. Downtown Somerset, with its Courthouse Square, independent dining, and the cultural programming of the Pulaski County Arts Center, provides the evening destination option for guests whose Lake Cumberland days end with an appetite for town rather than camp. Escape With Us RV Resort operates year-round in Kentucky's relatively mild southern climate, with summer bringing peak lake recreation demand and the houseboat rental season in full swing on Lake Cumberland. Fall is an excellent alternative window — the lake's coves reflect the surrounding hardwood foliage beautifully in October, fishing pressure drops significantly from summer peaks, and the resort's amenities are fully operational without the summer crowds. Reserve ahead for summer holiday weekends and Memorial Day through Labor Day, when Lake Cumberland's accommodation inventory across Pulaski County competes with visitor demand from Kentucky, Tennessee, and the surrounding region.

Kerry and Brandon were great! The campground is easy access, very clean, safe, and friendly. They have a great little store, washrooms, and laundry facilities. We'll stop there again if we pass by!
