5.02 reviews4 County RV Park and Campground in Danville, Georgia, is a family-friendly, pet-friendly full-hookup campground in Twiggs County's middle Georgia countryside — a quiet getaway that describes itself as 20 miles from nowhere, sitting in the agricultural interior of central Georgia between the cities of Macon and Warner Robins in the sweeping longleaf pine and farmland landscape that defines middle Georgia's rural character. The campground's Twiggs County position in the geographical center of Georgia gives guests the practical access to both the Macon cultural corridor's museums and historic sites and the Robins Air Force Base museum complex, while the campground's peaceful rural setting provides the genuine distance from urban density that its self-described nowhere billing specifically delivers.
Full-hookup RV sites in the family and pet-friendly campground give guests the practical infrastructure for comfortable middle Georgia overnight stays. The campground's quiet, wooded character in Twiggs County's rural landscape gives guests the outdoor retreat atmosphere that properties closer to the Warner Robins and Macon commercial corridors cannot provide, and the countryside setting genuinely delivers the quietude that the campground's rural identity markets. Pets are welcome throughout.
Macon, approximately 25 miles west of Danville in Bibb County, is one of Georgia's most historically and architecturally significant cities — a community whose antebellum Greek Revival architecture survived Sherman's March and the Civil War in an intact form that gives the downtown and the surrounding historic neighborhoods the built character of a pre-war Georgia city relatively unchanged by the urban renewal that dismantled comparable historic districts in Atlanta and other rapidly developing Georgia cities. The Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park preserves one of the most significant pre-Columbian earthwork complexes in the southeastern United States — a 17,000-year human habitation history site with Mississippian temple mounds dating from 900 to 1600 CE and an earth lodge reconstruction that gives visitors direct access to a 1,000-year-old ceremonial structure.
The Museum of Aviation at Robins Air Force Base, 15 miles southwest of Danville in Warner Robins, is the largest aviation museum in the southeastern United States — a four-building complex with over 100 aircraft, including the SR-71 Blackbird, the B-52 Stratofortress, and the full range of Air Force aviation history from World War I biplanes through contemporary jet fighters in a free-admission museum that gives visitors the specific scale of Air Force history that base-adjacent museums uniquely access. The museum's outdoor aircraft park allows close-up inspection of aircraft types that most aviation museums can only display indoors at reduced accessibility.
4 County RV Park and Campground serves guests year-round in middle Georgia's mild climate, where the spring and fall seasons from March through May and September through November deliver the most comfortable outdoor conditions and the moderate winters attract the southbound snowbird market from the northeastern and Midwestern states. The Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site in Juliette, 20 miles northwest, preserves the only antebellum Georgia plantation complex to survive through the Civil War and into the early 20th century in continuous active use — a 20-building complex including the 1847 plantation house, the cotton gin, and the working farm operations that give visitors the most physically complete and most interpretively honest picture of the antebellum Georgia plantation system. Reserve sites ahead for fall and spring weekends when the Macon area's limited campground market sees regional demand from the Atlanta and Columbus leisure travel markets.
