Coastal Soul
Port St. Joe, Florida
1 RV Site
Positioned on the Forgotten Coast in Port St. Joe, Florida, Coastal Soul RV Beach Retreat sits just steps from the sugar-white sand beaches and emerald Gulf waters along Indian Pass—one of the more secluded and naturally intact stretches of Florida's Panhandle coastline. The retreat is designed primarily for Class A and Super C motorcoaches, reflecting an emphasis on providing a premium coastal RV destination for guests traveling in larger, higher-specification rigs who seek immediate beach proximity in a quieter Forgotten Coast setting.
The retreat's defining feature is its beach adjacency—guests are within a short walk of the Gulf of Mexico, where Indian Pass's calm, clear water and wide sand beach deliver a swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing environment characteristic of the Forgotten Coast at its most natural. The Gulf Coast Highway scenic corridor runs through the immediate area, offering driving views of the bay and Gulf that showcase the natural character of the St. Joseph Bay and Indian Pass wetland system. The semi-private feel of the retreat's coastal setting gives it a more intimate atmosphere than heavily developed beach resort campgrounds elsewhere on the Florida coast.
St. Joseph Bay, the sheltered embayment between the Cape San Blas peninsula and the mainland, is considered one of the most ecologically pristine bays in Florida—a designation that reflects the bay's exceptional water clarity, seagrass meadows, and wildlife diversity, including one of the highest densities of horseshoe crabs on the Gulf Coast. Kayaking and paddleboarding on the bay provides a calm-water alternative to the open Gulf, and the bay's grass flats support scalloping during the summer season when Forgotten Coast scalloping draws visitors from across the state.
Apalachicola Bay, approximately 20 miles east, is one of the most productive oyster-producing estuaries in the country and the centerpiece of the historic fishing community of Apalachicola—a town that combines Victorian-era architecture, independent restaurants serving locally harvested seafood, and the John Gorrie State Museum honoring the inventor of artificial ice with a cultural depth unusual for a community of its size. Fishing from shore or via chartered vessels in Apalachicola Bay targets flounder, redfish, speckled trout, and other inshore species in one of Florida's most productive coastal fisheries.
Coastal Soul RV Beach Retreat offers access to an extended Gulf Coast season, with spring and fall bringing the most comfortable outdoor temperatures and the clearest water conditions for swimming and bay paddling. Summer remains warm and humid but delivers the longest beach days and the peak scalloping window on St. Joseph Bay. Advance reservations are recommended for all seasons, as the retreat's limited capacity and premium beach position create consistently high demand from guests seeking the Forgotten Coast's natural character combined with full-service RV infrastructure. The Forgotten Coast's name reflects its historical status as one of the least commercially developed stretches of the Florida Panhandle coastline—a condition that has been preserved by the concentration of protected state forests, wildlife refuges, and state parks in the St. Joe Bay and Apalachicola Bay corridor that limit the kind of high-density resort development present farther east toward Panama City.
