5.01 reviewsGarden of the Gods RV Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado, sits in the foothills of Pikes Peak in El Paso County — a resort campground whose namesake reflects its proximity to the Garden of the Gods Park, one of the most visited natural landmarks in Colorado and a geological showpiece of 300-million-year-old red sandstone fins and monoliths that rise vertically from the surrounding plains in formations whose scale and color create the specific Colorado Front Range landscape image that the region's tourism identity is built around. The resort's Colorado Springs position gives guests the high-altitude mountain environment, the Pikes Peak corridor's full recreation and tourism infrastructure, and the Front Range metropolitan access that make the Colorado Springs area one of the most broadly appealing regional tourism destinations in the Rocky Mountain West.
Full-hookup RV sites with resort-level amenity infrastructure give guests the comprehensive practical base for the Pikes Peak area's extensive outdoor and cultural programming, and the resort's developed facilities create the comfortable return address that Colorado Springs's demanding terrain rewards after full days of mountain hiking, cycling, and sightseeing. The resort's welcoming atmosphere and the surrounding Colorado Springs community's broad range of accommodation-adjacent services give guests the full service access that extended high-country stays require. Pets are welcome.
Garden of the Gods Park, a City of Colorado Springs park with free admission since the donor's 1909 bequest specifically prohibited charging for entry, preserves 1,341 acres of the most dramatic Lyons sandstone and Fountain Formation rock outcrops in the Front Range uplift zone — a geological landscape where the collision of the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountain front has pushed ancient sea-floor sediments vertically to create formations like the Balanced Rock, the Kissing Camels, and the Three Graces that attract rock climbers, hikers, and photographers from across the western United States. The park's visitor center provides world-class geological and cultural interpretation of the formations and the Ute, Cheyenne, and Arapaho peoples who used this landscape for centuries before European settlement.
Pikes Peak — the 14,115-foot summit that Katharine Lee Bates credited with inspiring "America the Beautiful" in 1893 — is accessible by the Pikes Peak Highway driving route or the Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway, the highest cog railway in the United States. The summit's 360-degree view across the Front Range, from the Kansas plains to the east to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the south, is one of the most broadly panoramic mountain summit views accessible to visitors without technical climbing equipment in North American mountain country.
Garden of the Gods RV Resort operates year-round in Colorado Springs's semi-arid high-plains climate, where the mile-high elevation moderates summer temperatures below those of the Denver metro and the 300 days of annual sunshine that El Paso County records make outdoor recreation a year-round proposition. The United States Air Force Academy, Cheyenne Mountain State Park, the Broadmoor's resort complex, and Cave of the Winds Mountain Park add depth to the Colorado Springs attraction calendar that sustains multi-week itineraries without repetition. Reserve sites well ahead for the summer peak from June through August, when Front Range visitation fills Colorado Springs area accommodation across all categories.

Perfect family trip! Facilities were well taken care of and always walked into a clean bathroom/shower daily. Two good pools and playground for kids to enjoy as well as the fenced dog park. We will definitely be back!
