Mountain View RV Park and Guest Motel
Mountain View, Arkansas
38 RV Sites, 1 Cabin, 8 Condos, 1 Lodge
Located in Mountain View, Arkansas, at the center of the Ozark Mountains in Stone County, Mountain View RV Park and Guest Motel combines traditional RV campground accommodations with motel room lodging in a town that holds a nationally recognized distinction as the Folk Music Capital of the World—a living folk culture community where traditional Ozark music, crafts, and heritage practices remain central to daily community life and public programming in ways unique to this corner of north-central Arkansas. The property's dual accommodation format gives it flexibility to serve a broader range of travelers than a single-format lodging operation, and its position within Mountain View's walkable downtown core places guests in immediate proximity to the folk music venues and heritage attractions that define the town's identity.
Motel rooms provide a fixed-roof lodging option for travelers who prefer a conventional room to a campsite, while full-hookup RV sites accommodate guests with motorhomes and trailers requiring electrical, water, and sewer connections. Both accommodation formats share the property's central Mountain View location, placing guests within walking distance of Courthouse Square—the public gathering space where traditional Arkansas folk musicians perform publicly in an informal and participatory tradition that draws musicians from across the region to join the jam session culture that has made Mountain View a pilgrimage destination for folk music enthusiasts since the 1970s.
Blanchard Springs Caverns, operated by the US Forest Service approximately 15 miles north of Mountain View in the Ozark National Forest, is recognized as one of the most significant show cavern systems in the United States—a living cave system with active speleothem formation that offers guided tours through two developed cave sections showcasing flowstone, stalactites, stalagmites, and cave formations in a naturally dark environment maintained by Forest Service management. The cavern's quality as a federally managed geological and natural heritage site distinguishes it from commercial show caves and gives guests a first-rate underground natural history experience in the Ozark Mountain landscape surrounding Mountain View.
Ozark Folk Center State Park, located on the northern edge of Mountain View, is the nation's only state park dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the heritage crafts and music of the Ozark Mountains—a living history institution where traditional craftspeople demonstrate blacksmithing, pottery, weaving, basketry, and woodworking in a campus of historic-style buildings. The Dry Creek Trailhead in the Ozark National Forest, the White River and its tributaries for trout fishing and canoeing, and the ridge-and-valley hiking terrain of the national forest surrounding Stone County give guests oriented toward outdoor recreation abundant choices within a short drive of the campground.
Mountain View RV Park and Guest Motel is open year-round, with the Ozark Mountain climate supporting outdoor recreation across most seasons. Spring and fall are particularly appealing for hiking and river recreation in the surrounding Ozark National Forest, and the folk music programming at Ozark Folk Center State Park peaks during the festival and performance season from late spring through fall. Blanchard Springs Caverns is open year-round with a consistent underground temperature around 58 degrees, making it a welcome cool refuge during the warm summer months. Advance reservations are recommended for summer holiday weekends and the fall music festival season.
